Red House

A red house—the right shade of red—elicits the notion of America with a quiet that disagrees with the color. Alarm. Danger. Fire. That’s red. Even after the sun and time peel away layers of vibrance, red demands attention. But on a house it reveals a simple honesty, humility even.

The red house is a quiet house. If the yard is groomed it brings a Rockwell like comfort to the neighborhood. An overgrown yard surrounding a red house feels in need of rescue.
